    The ultimate goal of ECREAS is to improve the quality of life of those where providers of elderly care and services are taking care of.
    By exchanging best practices, research, education and training programmes ECREAS aims to improve the quality of care and services in Europe that leads to an improvement of quality of life experienced by the clients of providers of elderly care and services.

    What is ECREAS?

    ECREAS is a virtual platform where its members can share their experiences and where materials can be downloaded. Although we have an office in Brussels it is not a big centre that can be visited. The main activities are taking place in a virtual environment.

    Who is the best in Europe?

    AWARDS 2018


    In 2014 and 2016 EAHSA have recognised an outstanding organisation and an innovative facility throughout Europe by an EAHSA Award.

    In 2014 Seniorenzentrum Krefeld, Germany was awarded as the best facility for senior care and services in Europe and the Fédération Nationale Avenir et Qualité de Vie des Personnes Agées (FNAQPA), France, was awarded as the best organisation.

    In 2016 Het Heiveld in Gent, Belgium was awarded as the best facility for senior care and services in Europe and “Les Cèdres” in Beaux, France was awarded as best organisation.

    On 13 September 2018 the EAN-ECREAS Award of best facility in Europa was handed over to Dom Danice Vogrinec in Maribor Slovenia (download the application here), during the EAN conference in Prague Czech Republic. This time there were no applications for best organisation.
    Nominees were:
    - "Azienda publicca di Servizi alla Persona Itis” in Trieste, Italy (download application here)
    - "Ehpad Simon Bénichou” in Nancy, France (download application here)
    - "Humanitas Deventer" in Deventer, Netherlands (download application here)

    Because of COVID the award was not awarded in 2020 and 2022.
